¿Why do we Do BAKONGO?

¿Why go to BAKONGO?

BAKONGO is created to: 

- Contribute to the development and peace of the country, creating a different space where we can take advantage of situations of conflict, difference and vulnerability, as pedagogical tools, awareness, empowerment, encouragement and development of creativity. 

- Give the opportunity to young people to participate in a social project, which also have a process of personal development and as agents of change .

- Provide an opportunity for vulnerable children and victims of conflict in Colombia, to have extra curricular activities that serve them to their comprehensive training and to strengthen their emotional competencies (overcome early trauma by their contexts of poverty and war). Thus, with the camp we remove children from their contexts and bring together young people from other neighborhoods, cities and conditions, to involve them in an environment where they can think of alternatives for your projects of different life to imaginary they have in their daily lives and those who have been educated.

A Unique Experience

BAKONGO has been providing exceptional outdoor educational experiences to young people and children since 2007. It has established a tradition of participant development, teaching them that values such as happiness, discipline, courage and friendship are ones  that we should carry with us at all times, as we would the national flag.

All our activities cultivate character development and encourage the young people and children who take part to get out of their comfort zone, enjoy new experiences, increase self confidence and care for the environment and others.

Children and young people from different parts of the country and the world gather together every year at BAKONGO. This huge diversity of people, along with our beautiful location in Raquira, gives the children and young people friendships and memories that will last a lifetime, and helps them to understand that DARING TO CHANGE THE WORLD HAS NEVER BEEN SO MUCH FUN.
