Olga Lucia Mendoza

Olga Lucía Mendoza is founder and co-director of the camp. Social enterpriser as she is, she is also director of the Cupboard Full of Dreams Foundation (Fundación Armario de Sueños). In 2010 she was chosen for the British Council programme Global Changemakers, to take part in the Meeting of Young Social Enterprisers of Latin America and the Caribbean which took place in Brazil. She then helped to organised a similar event in India with social enterprisers from Asia and the Pacific.
Since the construction of this project began, Olga Lucía has had the chance to share experiences and tools with other outdoor programmes such as ALOHA, a camp run by Asociasión Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz Association), the National Meeting of Ecoclubs in Barú, Colombia with OPEPA (Organisation for Environmental Education and Protection), adventure trips with To Be Camp and is now facilitator for the Youth Leadership School ORIGEN where she was elected Exemplary Leader in her second year.
Thanks to practicing rock climbing, Olga Lucía completed a willderness first response (WFR) course with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) in Leadville, Colorado in 2009. Today she is a member of staff at BAKONGO in charge of emotional and physical health and wellbeing within the camp.
